Ingredients
- 14 oz ground chicken or turkey
- 1/2 tablespoon chopped fresh garlic + 2 more cloves chopped for the sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 tablespoons paprika or smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon pink salt or smoked sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon fennel seed
- 1-2 cups Imagine chicken stock
- 1 teaspoon fennel seed
- Lemon - add to your liking
- 1/8 teaspoon Xanthan gum
- 3.5 ounces broccoli florets
Preparation
- Mix all ingredients for sausage and let sit in the refrigerator overnight or for 24 hours.
- Form 3.5 ounce sausage patties. (makes about 5 servings)
- Heat up a frying pan. Spray with non-stick spray and cook up patties. Set patties aside.
- Using the pan (without washing it), toss in chopped garlic, fennel seed, and chicken stock.
- Stir to deglaze the pan.
- Add lemon and Xanthan gum. Stir until thickened.
- Serve sauce over 1 patty and broccoli.
